Police Arrest Businessman In Cocoa Funeral Waste Dumping
COCOA, Fla. — Police arrested the owner of a hazardous waste transport business after investigators said they found used body bags in a Dumpster on a public street Monday night.
Cocoa police said Adrian Stone was charged with littering for commercial purposes involving biomedical waste.
Investigators said they found bags of discarded waste near a home where Stone operates the biohazardous waste transport firm. Police said they found blood, fecal matter, chemicals used for embalming and used body bags, hospital gowns and other evidence of medical waste in the bags.
Police said Stone admitted putting the waste in a Dumpster instead of taking it to a licensed hazardous waste facility.
